Luis Angel Ibanez was born in Mexico City. He comes from a family of musicians, and started playing guitar at the age of nine. At 17 years of age, started formal music education at the Escuela de iniciación artística (School of arts) with the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA).

He has a bachelors science in Petroleum Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). And master classes in Energy and mineral resources from the University of Texas.

He has been an active musician since his early teens. He has performed in multiple mediums from TV programs, music festivals, video and of course a great number of live performances. His music abilities have taken him to many countries, including Germany, France, Japan, Cuba, Morocco and more. Presently he teaches music at an elementary school, and continues performing as a solo artist, with Trio Los Vigilantes, Los Compadres and Austin Latin All Stars.
